Commonwealth Payroll is a fast growing payroll and HR company in Virginia Beach and we are looking to expand our team.

We provide outsourced HR and payroll services for our clients and are looking to hire a Human Resources Generalist. We offer opportunities for growth and mentorship, a great benefits package that includes a 401k profit sharing plan, and a down to earth company culture. 

Job Duties:

• Assist clients with onboarding new hires and adding employees to our payroll / HRIS system
• Assist employees with questions related to compensation, benefits administration, and new hire orientation.
• Work with our clients to assist in processing their payrolls accurately and timely
• Respond to customer support tickets and resolve HR and payroll related questions and issues
• Run and review payroll reports prior to processing to ensure payrolls and taxes are correct and on an ad hoc basis as needed
• Leverage an understanding of federal and state taxes, insurance policies, employee benefits, PTO and accruals to support clients as needed
• Assist Director of HR and Director of Payroll Operations with ad hoc projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree is preferred
• 2-4+ years of human resources related experience
• Must be detail oriented
• Must be coachable, have a positive attitude and a good team player
• Intermediate or above Excel user and competent user of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Someone who can work autonomously and manage deadlines effectively.
• Must have strong, professional communication skills over the phone, email, and in person
